![]() Off-spinner Graeme Swann has been named as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB)'s Men's Cricketer of the Year, which is selected by the British media. Seamer Katherine Brunt won the Women's Cricketer of the Year prize and Chris Edwards claimed the disability award. Nottinghamshire's Swann, 31, has taken 99 wickets in 45 games for England in the past year, and also starred in the Ashes and ICC World Twenty20 triumphs. The home side resumed on 304-2 and Rudolph and Anthony McGrath (105) took their third-wicket partnership to 206 before the latter was run out. Ruldolph then shared a century stand with Andrew Gale (41) as Yorkshire declared on 610-6. In reply Adil Rashid took two wickets in two balls as Durham closed on 54-3, still 556 runs behind. Having made only 49 runs in six previous innings on tour, he made 20 but was bowled attempting a sweep shot. Earlier, skipper Alastair Cook conceded 111 from just five overs as he bowled for a declaration by the hosts. England were set 284 to win and Michael Carberry, seeking a place in Friday's first Test, hit six fours in 35 from 28 balls as the tourists closed on 185-4. After his undistinguished bowling Cook did make the most of his chance with the bat, and was in control against both spin and seam in compiling 42 before he decided to retire. |
