Michael Vaughan failed with the bat, making just 10 in his first match since giving up his role as England captain.

Looking for runs to show he warrants a place in England's future Test teams, Vaughan could only score 10 at Scarborough for Yorkshire against Kent.

He came to the crease immediately after tea as Yorkshire replied to Kent's first-innings score of 227.

After facing 19 deliveries, Vaughan chased a ball outside off stump and nicked off to the wicketkeeper
